Research

My current research interests are:

• Spectral atmospheric transmission. An overview and partial analysis is available here.

Dissertation

Long Duration Balloon Borne Observations in the Winter North Polar Vortex: Application to the Study of Global Change Issues.

The results of my research were:

• The first circumpolar balloon flight performed during the polar winter.
• Measured ozone reductions of up to 67%.
• A vortex filament width estimate of 3^o in latitude.
• Measured the asphericity of sulphuric acid tetrahydrate aerosols to be 0.7.
• The utility of numerically modelled air parcel trajectories was limited to general air motion as opposed to detailed air motion.
