Physics Team — 2008 Kickball Tournament Champs

The Physics department team (named Kirkman's Magnetic Monopoles) won the 2008 CSB/SJU Senior Farewell kickball tournament.

We started off with a route of the Communication department team, 8-0 in two innings.

Then we met the South African Study Abroad team (called the South African Springboks) in a bitter fought contest. After the regulation 3 innings we were tied 8-8, so an extra two out inning was played in order to break the tie. Unfortunately, we were still tied after an extra inning. So since the tournament had to stay on schedule, Rock Paper Scissors was used to break the tie. Alas, Physics team member was beaten in a tough best two out of three match.

But all was not lost. Due to some sort of scheduling mistake, there was need for another team in the next round! So we played on against the Chemistry Department team (named the Schrödinger's Diene Cats). We proved too much for them, winning 6-2 (??) in 3 innings.

Finally, it was on to the championship game where we had a rematch with the Springboks. This time, though, no tie breakers were required. We won 7-3 (??), avenging our heartbreaking loss.
